Future Proof: The Conference That Doesn't Feel Like a Conference

Most conferences feel the same.

You fly somewhere. Grab your badge. Sit in a ballroom. Listen to speakers. Walk the exhibit hall. Collect some business cards. Go home.

Future Proof said: yeah…let's not do that.

Instead, they put thousands of people from the wealth management world on the beach in Huntington Beach, California.

And somehow, it works.

The Best Part Isn't a Speaker

Future Proof has big names, new technology and plenty to see. But that's not what makes it special.

It's the people you meet.

In 2025, more than 26,000 one-on-one Breakthru meetings happened in just two days.

And they're not random. Both people have to want the meeting. If there's a match, you meet.

Then the interesting part happens.

Maybe 15 minutes turns into 45. Maybe they introduce you to someone else. Maybe you realize you're both trying to solve the same problem.

That's the point.

Zoom Can't Do Everything

We love technology. We can meet anyone without leaving our desk. We can send a message in seconds. We can demo software from 2,000 miles away.

But Zoom has its limits.

People talk differently face-to-face. Conversations go off script. You ask better questions. You actually get to know someone.

Sometimes one great conversation is worth the entire trip.

And Then There's the Beach

Future Proof isn't happening inside another windowless convention center.

It's in Huntington Beach.

The event is outside. The Pacific Ocean is right there. There are stages, food, music, meetings and people everywhere.

You might have a scheduled meeting and keep talking afterward. You might run into someone from yesterday. You might meet the right person completely by accident.

It doesn't feel forced.

And that's why it works.

People Meeting People

Future Proof is about the future of wealth management. AI. Technology. Investing. Advice. Automation.

But one of the best things about it is incredibly old-school.

People meeting people.

You can automate a lot of things.

You can't automate a great conversation.

You can't automate chemistry.

And you can't automate that moment when someone says:

"Wait. You need to meet this person."

That's why I’m heading to Huntington Beach in a couple of weeks.

I’ll learn a lot.

I’ll see what's next and hot in the financial industry.

I’ll probably come home with way too many ideas.

But I’m really going for the face to face conversations, to visit with old friends and to meet new one.

If you're going to Future Proof, come find me and say “hi”.

No Zoom link required.
